Revolutionary wave of 1848–1849

World history · Politics · Conflict

Uprisings in numerous European states demanded, in differing combinations, constitutions, representation, social reform, and national self-determination. Most were defeated or limited in the short term, but the wave left political changes and exile networks; it was not a single revolution and did not affect all of Europe alike.
