Great Depression
World history · Politics · Culture
The financial crisis that began in 1929 became a worldwide depression through banking collapses, trade contraction, unemployment, and divergent policies. Its pace and effects varied among economies and colonies; it was not caused by one market alone or sufficient by itself to explain the rise of every authoritarian regime of the era.
