International climate-change treaty regime
World history · Politics · Culture
The 1992 UN Framework Convention, the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, and the 2015 Paris Agreement established successive frameworks for climate cooperation. The agreements recognize differentiated responsibilities and capabilities, but their targets, finance, and implementation have been negotiated and contested; adoption alone does not equal achieved outcomes.
