“Gerasimov doctrine”: label and historiographical debate
War & military technology · Doctrina · Guerra de la información · Debates historiográficos · Estudios estratégicos
After a 2013 text by Valery Gerasimov on changes in warfare, some Western analysis popularized the label “Gerasimov doctrine.” A *Military Review* study cautions that the text can be read as reflection and an invitation to study future war, not as the proclamation of a new Russian doctrine or a single operational plan. This entry retains the label to make its circulation visible, but does not use it to explain policies, operations, or ongoing conflicts in a totalizing way.
