Christine de Pizan’s treatise on arms and chivalry

War & military technology · Caballería · Textos militares · Restricciones de la guerra · Doctrina

The *Livre des faits d’armes et de chevalerie*, published in 1410, brought together ancient and medieval authorities with reflections on war, chivalry, and developments such as artillery. It is evidence of a learned articulation of restraint, command, and military conduct, not proof of a universal chivalric code, uniform compliance, or warfare conforming to its prescriptions.
