1913 CE
Federal Reserve Act and creation of the Federal Reserve System
Money, banking & finance · Banca central, regulación y liquidez
President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act on 23 December 1913, creating a system with a central board and twelve regional banks. It responded to problems of currency elasticity and panics in the United States; its adoption did not make a central bank identical to European models or immediately solve all financial instability.
