Hammurabi law stele and collection
Law & constitutions · Codificación y procedimientos
Hammurabi’s stele brings together cases, penalties, and an extensive presentation of royal authority. It is a Babylonian royal inscription and exceptional evidence for legal language; it is neither a modern constitution nor proof of legal equality among the groups distinguished in the text.
