Constitutio Criminalis Carolina

Law & constitutions · Derecho penal, prueba y procedimiento

Charles V’s and the Holy Roman Empire’s 1532 criminal ordinance brought together rules on investigation, evidence, and penalties. It sought to regularize judicial practice, but operated subsidiarily alongside territorial and local laws; it did not create a uniform criminal code across Europe.
