Great Railroad Strike in the United States
Trabajo y organización laboral · Ferrocarriles · Huelgas · Recortes salariales
After further wage cuts on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, workers walked out in West Virginia and the protest spread across several states. It is a case of multiregional labour resistance, but not a fully centralised national strike: the Library of Congress stresses its largely spontaneous character and lack of sustained coordination. State and federal troops helped suppress it; press and government sources must be read carefully for their public-order framing.
