UN addresses privacy in the digital age
Information & communication · Technology · Infrastructure
The General Assembly adopted resolution 68/167 on the right to privacy in the digital age. It linked expanding communication technologies to capacities for surveillance, interception, and data collection, and called for review of practices and safeguards; it was an international position, not a rule enforceable uniformly in every state.
