*Homo sapiens* fossils from Jebel Irhoud, Morocco
Human evolution & hominins · Homo sapiens · Fósiles · Origen africano plural
The Jebel Irhoud fossils in Morocco date to around 315,000 years ago and broaden the known African depth and geography of early *Homo sapiens*. They do not by themselves support a single “point origin” for the species: African Pleistocene populations were structured, and dates and traits from different sites should be interpreted as a mosaic.
