Fossil range of *Homo habilis* and coexistence with other hominins
Human evolution & hominins · Homo temprano · Diversidad de homininos · Coexistencia
*Homo habilis* is documented roughly 2.4 to 1.4 million years ago. Relatively late *H. habilis* and early *H. erectus* fossils from the same region of Kenya challenge a simple succession from one species to the other. Its historical name also does not demonstrate that it was the first or sole maker of stone tools.
