COP28 call to transform energy systems

Energy · Technology · Infrastructure

The first global stocktake agreed at COP28 called on Parties to contribute to a just, orderly, and equitable transition away from fossil fuels in energy systems; it also called for tripling global renewable capacity and doubling the annual rate of efficiency improvement by 2030. It is a political and international-coordination signal: the text makes calls and depends on national implementation, finance, grids, and accountability.
