4.2 ka climate event
Climate & environment · Holoceno · Monzones · Espeleotemas
The base of the Meghalayan is defined at 4,250 ± 30 years before 1950 through an isotopic signal in a speleothem from Mawmluh Cave (India), associated with weakened monsoon conditions in parts of South and Southeast Asia. The evidence does not justify explaining the trajectories, crises, or continuities of all societies in that period through a single climate episode.
